Derryl Block is Interim Dean of the College of Professional and Graduate Studies at the U of Wisconsin-Green Bay with responsibility for undergraduate programs in Nursing, Business, Education, and Social Work as well as all graduate programs. She chaired the Nursing program and directed BSN-LINC (the University’s online national nursing program) since 2004. She was previously a faculty member at the U of Minnesota School of Nursing, the U of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing, and the Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing and Department of Social Medicine.
Block received a doctor of philosophy and a masters in nursing science from the University of Pennsylvania, a masters of public health from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, and a bachelors in nursing science from the U of Maryland. She has held numerous leadership positions in public health nursing organizations and has published dozens of peer reviewed articles especially in areas of nursing and public health workforce development and planning and evaluation of public health programs and policies. She has received a number of awards from public health nursing organizations and is an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow program.
