Beth Mertz, MAPA
Program Director

Beth Mertz is a program director at the Center for the Health Professions, University of California, San Francisco. After completing her Master’s in Public Affairs in 1997 she joined the Center as staff to the Pew Health Professions Commission and the Center for California Workforce Studies, working on a broad range of health professions workforce policy and analysis projects. Since 1999, as the co-investigator for dentistry and public health for the workforce center, and as the project director of the California Dental Access Project, her work has focused on issues of access to oral health care and oral health workforce analyses. In addition, in her current role as the program director for the Pharmacy Leadership Institute she is managing a leadership development program for pharmacists and conducting research on leadership issues for the pharmacy workforce.
