The Network is a project funded by the California HealthCare Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization whose mission is to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of the people of California.

The Network is an education and training program focused on reducing health disparities for diverse patient populations, improving health care practice and fostering organizational change. Current efforts emphasize educational programs, consultation and training in cultural competency for health care systems, clinicians and educators as well as quality improvement education for a broad array of health professionals.

The Network will be sponsoring a two-day workshop scheduled for July 11-12, 2003. The workshop is designed for institutional and educational leaders who are charged with developing and evaluating the efforts of their health care organizations to improve health care services to diverse populations.
