Workshop Description

This workshop, the second of a series, addresses the expressed need of cultural competency educators and health systems managers to learn techniques for integrating cultural competency into organizational contexts. It is designed for institutional and educational leaders who are charged with developing and evaluating the efforts of their health care organizations to improve health care services to diverse populations. Participants will learn how cultural competency is linked to workforce and patient safety issues and will identify and apply systems-based approaches to addressing health disparities. In addition, this workshop will expand participant skills in facilitating and evaluating cultural competency trainings. At the completion of the workshop participants will develop a strategic plan for improving care for diverse populations in their health care organizations.

The workshop is limited to 30 participants. To take full advantage of this training, hospitals and health care systems are encouraged to consider sending a team of two participants.
